Homecoming, Vines & Canines, Costco Talk This Week in Riverhead

Here's a look at the week ahead in Riverhead:

-  It's "Vines & Canines Educational Vineyard Walk" at Martha Clara Vineyards Monday at 10 a.m. Free. Bring your dog down for an educational walk through the vineyard. A donation of a non-perishable dog or cat food item is required and will be donated to local shelters. Meet behind the Tasting Room Pavilion.

- Also at Martha Clara Vineyards on Monday, it's "Live Music With the Two Dons,"  an electric guitar duo, at 1 p.m. Free. 

- A special planning board meeting will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. to discuss the "Shops at Riverhead," the site of a future Costco that has sparked much contention after land clearing in recent weeks.

- A Riverhead town board meeting will be held on a special day, Wednesday, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall this week.

- Riverhead High School will celebrate homecoming on Saturday. The Blue Waves will face off against Walt Whitman High School at 2 p.m., with the parade kicking off the festivities at 12:30 p.m.  .
