Week Ahead: Christmas, Snowflake Week, Live Music

Here's what's happening this week in Riverhead:

- Merry Christmas! Celebrate the joy of the season with your family and friends on Wednesday, and check back to Patch tomorrow to see what's open and what's not on the holiday.

- A Riverhead town board work session will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m.

-  Head to the Riverhead Project on Friday at noon for "Mind Your Own Business 2 — Rock Your Business Resolutions and Set Your Intentions for a Successful 2014." Each MYOB workshop is customized by feedback from the current group of participants and includes exploration of a  business-boosting topic, a post-workshop email chock full of resources curated with participants' businesses in mind,  websites, articles, apps, case studies and more.  Q & A and group discussions. - On Saturday, it's "Live Music with Whinin' Cheez" at 2 p.m. at Martha Clara Vineyards.  Whinin' Cheez celebrates the great singer/songwriters of today with feel-good music and timeless classics. Free Admission.

- It's Snowflake Week at the Long Island Science Center. From Dec. 27 through 31, with hours from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Winter has begun, the snow may be falling and school is out. Learn how snowflakes and crystals are formed! All activities are on-going.
