North Fork Agenda: Strawberry Festival, Live Music & More

Other events going on this weekend include a BBQ boot camp for dad, Goldsmith Inlet clean-up and more.

After plenty of rain recently, it looks as though the skies could open up this weekend for a change, and there's plenty going on to do this weekend. So take a look here, and for more events, check out our calendars on North Fork and Riverhead Patch.

GREENPORT

• Photo exhibitBird photographer Conrad Obregon will present his works Friday night, which were taken everywhere from Southold to New York City to internationally. Refreshments will be offered at the event, which starts at 7:30 at the North Fork Audubon building on Route 48.

SOUTHOLD

• Hospital fundraiserThe Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary will be holding a fundraiser on Saturday at the American Legion hall, starting at 6 p.m. Beatles tribute band Liverpool Shuffle will be performing, with Jimmie Burgers, chicken kabobs and more to eat. Cost is $40.

CUTCHOGUE

• BBQ Boot CampAt 2 p.m. at Waters Crest Winery, Chef Tom Fazio will be offering a how-to in everything grilling, from marinades and rubs to making your own smoker. Cost is $40 per person and includes a glass of wine, or a pint of beer.

PECONIC

• Clean-upThe Group to Save Goldsmith Inlet and Group for the EastE d will be holding a beach clean-up on Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. With debris left over from Superstorm Sandy, more volunteers are needed than in previous years.

MATTITUCK

• Strawberry FestivalThis year's Strawberry Festival kicks off this weekend at the Strawberry Fields on Sound Avenue in Mattituck. The 59th Annual festival, as always, will be full of rides, music, food, vendors and more.

• Father's Day Farm FestBring dad out for a taste of something local at Harbes Farm on Route 48, as Southold Project in Aquaculture Training will be on hand to offer some information about local oysters, and Greenport Harbor Brewing Company will be around to give some tastes of their local brews. In addition, of course, to everything at Harbes. 

• Flea marketDrop by the Unity Baptist Church on Factory Avenue for a "huge flea market" from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

RIVERHEAD

• Live musicShotgun Wedding – a "city country band" – is performing at the Suffolk Theater on Saturday as part of its Saturday Supper Club series. For $60, catch a show and a meal, or just the show for $30 ($35 at the door). Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields is playing Friday night

• Pet fundraiserBallroom Barks, a nonprofit based out of New York City, is holding a fundraiser at the Polish Hall on Saturday night from 7:30 until midnight. The dance will feature a free ballroom dancing lesson from Bonnie Diaz, founder of the organization and a former ballroom dancer. Cost is $35.

• Hen House TourThinking about raising chickens? Due to a big boost in popularity recently, Cornell Cooperative Extension will be offering a self-guided tour on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. of some homes and small farms that raise chickens. Cost is $5 for a map, which can be picked up at CCE offices on Sound Avenue.

• Flag Day CelebrationThe Patriot Guard Riders are holding a steak night on Friday in celebration of Flag Day. Held at the Polish Hall from 7 to 10 p.m., $20 gets you a dinner.
