Went to see these apartments recently (May 2014). The apartments look good on the outside as you areRead More driving by but in side they are showing age and need an uplift. They currently have 1 and 2 br avail. The grounds looked nice and grass was cut. Appliances are so so. Washer and dryer is an extra 40.00 month quoted. A tour of clubhouse was nothing special, looked clean. Laundry room was a mess with broken machines and dirt on the walls. I wouldn't wash rags in their washing machines. They have a tiny putting green and shuffleboard court next to pool. Kind of pathetic looking, not inviting. Went there in afternoon mid week and saw quite a few sketchy characters walking around, in and out of the gated entrance (which was wide open unattended) while I was there. Not sure if they were tenants or just passing thru. Did not get a feeling of security and not sure how many police calls, break ins, criminal activity, drugs, etc. occur (if any) there. All in all did not like what I saw in light of day and makes me wonder what happens when the sun goes down. Also the pool was old and worn out and did not look "sparkling" (their description in their brochure) but rather cloudy water and during a very hot day was NOT open. As I stood reading the pool signs, a man screamed at me from across the road, "Are you looking for the pool"? I turned around as no one else was nearby and without shouting back at him just shrugged my shoulders and he added "Just to ket you know the pool is only open on the weekends". He said something else inaudible and walked on down the road. How can you have a pool (which only allows 32 people @ a time) in a complex that size and not have it open during the week? It must be crazy crowded on Saturday and Sunday just to get in a swim. Not sure who the man was, but I jumped in my car and took off. In my humble opinion, this place has seen better days and although I cannot speak for mgt. and maintenance, the apt rep seemed nice. The rent is not bad for the pretty area surrounding approx 1200 for 1 br and 1355 for 2 br with a difference of approx 100 sq ft. What I didn't really like was the other entrance/ exit is BEHIND AND TO THE SIDE of Waldbaum's and Home Depot and it is a woodsy secluded area entrance/exit I would be afraid to use even driving. The place is not for me or my husband. There are much better homes for rent and other prettier more modern and secure places. We will keep looking. Good luck! We will pass. ##
