Vote NO to dumping a bus depot next to the Phillips Avenue Elementary School. Bringing100 school…Read More buses and the cars of the bus drivers and attendants to Riverside's only light industrial park will hurt Riverside economically and cause massive traffic jams on SR 24 particularly at the traffic circle. Plus, why should the elementary school children in Riverside be forced to breath all the toxic fumes from buses serving all of Riverhead and beyond.
Lastly, the least expensive way to the tax payers of addressing this issue is to simply fix the existing bus repair facility and save tax payers district-wide a lot of money.
Moving to Riverside is wrong for the community! VOTE NO!

From what I remember, school…Read More districts are exempt from paying tax so yes Mrs. Cotton-Degrasse, a Payment in lieu of taxes(PILOT) is appropriate and the least the school district should do for dumping in our area. If you dump this on me, I want a tax break!

Why would our town approve a charter school that only serves boys? Do girls not matter? Are there…Read More no girls in our town that could benefit from the SMART curriculum?
Aren't we long past the time when the education of boys mattered more than girls - by about 100 years or so? I guess not much has changed in Riverhead!

No, Miss Cotten-DeGrasse, when you are intending to place a new facility in a community, you go to…Read More the community. It is YOUR job to inform the community of your plans. You do not wait for them to come to you. How lazy can you be?
But it makes absolute sense that you would be silent. Clearly placing an undesirable eyesore of a bus depot next to the poor children's school would not have gotten a warm reception. It's no surprise that you choose to be deceptive and not come to the community to tell us.
Dump the ghastly bus depot on the less affluent, give the folks with more money something pretty to look at. Shame on you!
