The H.B. Ward Technical and Academic Center, one of several Eastern Suffolk Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) campuses, is located nearby, where students can gain credit as well. Extracurriculars range from a student newspaper to an outdoors club to a bible club. In 2008-2009, Riverhead students averaged 482 for Critical Reading, 492 for Math, and 473 for Writing on the SAT. Ninety-one percent of the class of 2009 went on to attend post secondary education.</p>

Seventh and eighth grades were added to the high school in 1992, and in 2002 the former Mercy High partnered with the Diocese of Rockville Centre to become the school it is today. The school educates approximately 490 students annually, and is located on the corner of Ostrander Avenue and Middle Road.
