PHOTOS: Riverhead's First Mardi Gras Festival

Hosted by Riverhead Business Improvement District, the downtown festival and parade were a hit.

Question of the Day: Did You Go to Mardi Gras?

The Riverhead BID-organized Mardi Gras festival was held last night. What did you think?

Downtown Riverhead welcomed a New Orleans tradition on Saturday, when Mardi Gras mania swept through town. The event was organized through the Riverhead Business Improvement District, and featured parades, jugglers, musicians, vendors and lots of beads. The Mardi Gras Festival, in conjunction with several other events also sponsored by the Riverhead BID, replaced the annual blues music festival that ran downtown during the summer months. We want to know: did you attend the Mardi Gras festivities? What did you think of the event, and would you like to see it again next year?
