Lighthouse Mission exists to feed the hungry and help the homeless by sharing God’s love with people in need. Our commitment is to feed the poor, but our goal is to empower people to overcome poverty and live purpose-filled lives.

Lighthouse Mission was founded by Elaine Bohrer in 1992, who went out into the streets with 10 sandwiches to offer food and hope to the homeless. Over the past 25+ years, we have grown to become one of the largest food pantries in New York, serving more than 90,000 people per year across a wide spectrum of communities across Suffolk County. Lighthouse Mission has also developed numerous Youth Development Programs aimed at showing the children of our area how to live purpose-filled lives.
