Letter: What I Love About Libraries
In the spirit of 'Love Your Library Week,' library Director Lisa Jacobs shares her thoughts on why she loves Riverhead Free Library.
In honor of at , I thought I’d share my favorite things about libraries. So, let me count the ways…
- Welcoming, friendly people.
- Lots of books, print and digital.
- Programs to keep me learning. For free.
- Newly-released DVDs. For free.
- The sights and sounds of happy kids, having fun.
- Free computers, for when my printer or Internet access goes on the fritz. Hey, it happens.
- A place that not only accepts, but actually welcomes teens. I used to be one of them, you know.
- 24/7 access to digital services…articles from databases, reserves/renewals, ebooks and more.
- Beautiful outdoor public space.
