Cops: Woman Slashes Tires, Threatens Two With Knife

Police said the woman was charged with a felony.

A woman wielding a knife slashed tires and threatened two people recently, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Betty Bolling, 31, of Mattituck, was arrested on Oct. 5 after police said she took a kitchen knife to another woman’s Jeep and then threatened two people with the knife afterward. According to police, Bolling slashed the tires of the woman’s 2000 Jeep Cherokee parked on Pine Court in Northampton before approaching the victim, who locked herself inside the house and called police.

Bolling also allegedly threatened the victim’s boyfriend. Police arrested Bolling at around 12:45 p.m. She was transferred to Town of Southampton Police Headquarters and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and two counts of menacing in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
