Man Mugged In Flanders Stripped Of 7K In Cash

Victim was walking home from Cabana Latina when attacked.

Southampton Town Police are investigating a violent mugging that took place on Cypress Avenue in Flanders in which the attacker made off with more than $7,000 in cash and valuables.

According to police the victim was walking home from Cabana Latina on Flanders Road on August 25 at around midnight when he was suddenly attacked and hit in the face above his left eye. Police said the victim fell to the ground from the blow. The attacker then robbed him of $7,000 in cash, a $340 check and his cell phone.

Police took the victim to his brother’s house, who then drove him to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. Police reported the man’s eye was swollen shut and he had suffered a large cut above it.
