Man Sentenced After Having Sex With Teen

A West Hempstead man who was caught having sex in the Shoreham-Wading River woods with a teenage boy last August was sentenced on Tuesday to five years in prison.

David Boutin was indicted in front of a grand jury last September, after a policeman originally searching for a stolen motorbike on a remote utility access road caught Boutin in the car with a 13-year-old boy.

According to Newsday, Boutin was sentenced on Tuesday despite attempts by prosecutors for 10 years instead of the five granted.

Boutin had met the teen on Craigslist last April, and reportedly claimed that pictures of him made him look older than he actually was. 

He pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree criminal sexual act, two counts of second-degree sex abuse, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of disseminating sexually explicit material to a minor.
