Police: Ring Disappears From Woman's Home Overnight

Also, someone walked onto the property of a Northampton man and stole masonry tools.

Southampton Town police released the following incident reports for the week of Dec. 2.

Northampton

  • Someone walked onto a Northampton man’s property and stole $160 worth of mason tools on Nov. 22. The homeowner called 911 at around 8:40 p.m. after he said his girlfriend heard strange noises outside the house on Lake Avenue. When the victim went outside he discovered his wheelbarrow had been flipped over and tools being held inside it were gone. Stolen was a mason shovel, a long shovel, a spade shovel and an iron rake, worth about $40 each.

  • A resident on Albany Street said she took her ring off in her home and put it back in her jewelry box before going to bed, but when she woke up the ring was gone. The woman reported the theft on Nov. 28 at around 12 p.m. The victim said a friend had spent the night, but he allowed her to search his pockets for the missing ring without finding anything. The ring is described as rose and yellow gold with leaves and three diamond stones. The piece was estimated to be worth around $500.
